Leather and its varieties
Leather is one fabric that would always be regarded with the imprints of its original natural development and these features can express growth marks, scratches, hair pore structure and few areas of differing density of fiber. These basic features, not in any way, detract from the basic leather wearing qualities. Along with the usage, patina too gets developed which improves its smartness and beauty.
Variety of leather:
Nubuck: This is basically aniline leather, in which the surface is polished and brushed, having a velvet kind of texture which has luscious appearance. It can also be regarded as Bomber, Chaps and distressed. Just like velvet, the surface with texture shows a kind of difference within the shading and one can feel the same by running their hand over them.
Aniline: This variety of leather is natural in look and appearance with few unique features of surface to hide the visible remains. The leather can be colored through dye only and not with any surface coating of pigment and polymer.
Goat Suede: This leather is usually the inner most side of the skin or hides which is next to the meat/flesh of the animal, with buffed and smooth finishing. One most important feature of this is that it can be easily split from thicker hide. This variety of leather fabric is available in variety of attractive finishes which having different variety of textures.
Cow Nappa: This has a softer surface and is very much smooth, which is derived from the outer most skin of the cow. This variety of leather is basically available in great finishes and variety of colors. Because of its softness, the leather is used for the development of fashion apparel host. It is basically wrinkle free leather.
Lamp Nappa: This is a softer variety of leather which is derived from young sheep or lamb. It is very much soft in touch and poses light-weight too. It is commonly used for the development of sportswear jackets.
